Terms & Privacy
These terms cover your use of The Moving Lab’s website, free diagnostic, newsletter, and Academy content. By submitting the diagnostic, signing up for emails, or otherwise using the site, you agree to what’s below.
1. Who we are
2. What we collect
When you submit the free diagnostic, we collect:
- Your answers to each diagnostic question.
- Your name, company name, company website, email address, and (if provided) phone number.
- Standard request metadata such as timestamp, referring URL, and UTM parameters from the link you clicked.
- Information you provide if you reply to our emails or fill out other forms on the site.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Submitting the diagnostic means you confirm you’re an owner or authorized representative of the business you’re describing.
3. How we use it
We use your submission to:
- Generate and email your custom diagnostic report.
- Follow up with one or two short emails about the report and related resources.
- Send our newsletter and occasional educational content relevant to moving company operators. You can unsubscribe from these at any time using the link in any email.
- Aggregate and anonymize responses to improve the diagnostic and write public industry content. Aggregated data never identifies you or your business.
4. How we share it
We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate the site and communicate with you (email delivery, analytics, hosting), and only to the extent they need it to perform their service.
We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce these terms, or to protect the rights and safety of users, The Moving Lab, or others.
5. Email communications
Submitting the diagnostic enrolls you in occasional emails from The Moving Lab. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe. Unsubscribing stops marketing emails but doesn’t affect transactional emails directly related to a submission you’ve made (for example, your diagnostic report itself).
6. The diagnostic report is informational
Your diagnostic report is an opinion based on the answers you provide. It is not professional, legal, tax, or financial advice, and we make no guarantees about specific business outcomes. Decisions about how to run your business remain yours. The Moving Lab disclaims liability for actions taken or not taken based on the report.
7. Your choices and rights
You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing us at the address below. We’ll respond within 30 days. Deleting your data may mean we can’t continue to send you content you signed up for.
8. Data retention and security
We keep diagnostic submissions for as long as needed to deliver the report, improve our content, and comply with our legal obligations. We protect data using standard industry practices. No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute protection against unauthorized access.
9. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and analytics tools to understand how the site is used, measure marketing performance, and remember session state (such as draft diagnostic answers so you can refresh without losing your place). You can disable cookies in your browser; some site features may not work as expected.
10. Acceptable use
Don’t use the site to scrape content at scale, copy our playbooks for resale, impersonate someone else, or interfere with the site’s operation. We may suspend access to anyone who does.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes to how we handle personal data will be communicated by email to recent diagnostic respondents and newsletter subscribers.
12. Contact us
